It All Started with One Little Boy
The little boy who inspired it all.
This is my son Jack visiting our botanica as a young child. Nineteen years ago, when he was only three months old, searching for a simple traditional remedy inspired me to open Botanica San Miguel LJ. He may never have realized it, but he became the reason this journey began.

Our family has been helping people reconnect with their faith, preserve their spiritual traditions, and find products they can trust. Every customer who walks through our doors is welcomed like family because that's how we believe a botanica should feel.
Our story didn't begin with a business plan. It began with my son....
Nineteen years ago, when my son Jack was only three months old, he became badly congested. Growing up in the Dominican Republic, I remembered a traditional home remedy that many families trusted. We would apply a small amount of Bronquina together with Sebo de Oveja (sheep tallow) to a baby's back to help them breathe easier and sleep peacefully through the night.
Living in Manchester, New Hampshire, I searched everywhere for Bronquina. I called grocery stores, pharmacies, and every place I could think of, but no one carried it. My mother then suggested that I call a botanica. To my surprise, I discovered there weren't any nearby. I realized that if I was struggling to find traditional products, many other families were probably facing the same challenge.
That was the moment everything changed. Right then, I had a feeling in my heart that I was meant to open a botanica.
I would create a place where people could find the spiritual products, traditional remedies, and guidance that reminded them of home. That dream became Botanica San Miguel LJ, one of the first botanicas in New Hampshire.
As the years passed, our little store became much more than a place to shop. It became a place where people came to ask questions, share their stories, seek guidance, and reconnect with traditions that had been part of their families for generations.
Spirituality has always been part of my family's life.
My grandmother read the Spanish cards, and one of her sisters also practiced card reading. My mother reads coffee cups and still works beside me in the store today, sharing her wisdom and experience with our customers. I am honored to continue our family's tradition by offering Tarot readings, dream interpretation, spiritual guidance, and helping people choose the spiritual products that best fit their needs.
Today, whether you visit us in person or shop online, you'll find candles, herbs, crystals, spiritual baths, oils, perfumes, statues, Santería supplies, amulets, jewelry, and many other spiritual and religious items. We also offer Tarot readings, spiritual consultations, candle preparation, cleansing baths, and spiritual protection.
But what matters most to us isn't simply what we sell. It's how we make people feel.
